Robert
A. Buckley, M.D.
Doctor Buckley began practicing
orthopedic surgery in 1992. A Northgate High School alumni and
Student Body President, he completed his undergraduate work at the
University of California, Berkeley, where he played rugby and JV
basketball before graduating with honors. Dr. Buckley earned his
medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine,
receiving the Roland Starr Award for Excellence in Pediatrics and
graduating fifth in his class. After completing his internship and
residency in orthopedics at the University of Minnesota School of
Medicine, he returned to Walnut Creek, where he has practiced for
twelve years.
An avid road and mountain bike
cyclist, Dr. Buckley understands how the orthopedic struggles can
impact an active lifestyle. Dedicated and hardworking, he has
presented research studies at the American Academy of Orthopedic
Surgery, served on multiple committees at John Muir Medical Center,
and was recently elected Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics.
Dr. Buckley currently practices
orthopedic surgery with a special interest in arthroscopic
procedures of the knee and shoulder, as well as emphasis on
minimally invasive total hip and total knee joint replacement, at
Muir Orthopaedic Specialists. Dr. Buckley is very active with his
son's Boy Scout Troop and volunteers at his son's elementary school. |
